Tobias Wuttke

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Business Administration, University of Gothenburg. My research examines how technological development and industrial policy are reshaping firm hierarchies and the geographies of production and innovation in global industries—with a particular focus on automobiles, semiconductors, and lithium-ion batteries. My current project investigates the development of the European electric vehicle battery value chain. I have published on economic development, global value chains/production networks, industrial policy, state capacity, firm-level learning and capability building, and technological change in journals including Journal of Economic Geography, Competition & Change, Development and Change, Industrial and Corporate Change, and The Journal of Development Studies, among others.
